Genetics are pretty much EVERYTHING when it comes to building muscle!!


This is not to discourage you either, but rather to encourage you.


You see, back when I was clueless about the genetics of muscle growth (as a kid), I believed that anyone with enough training and nutrition could look like the superheroes we saw in comic books, and like the IFBB bodybuilders on the Mr. Olympia stage, NATURALLY.


I was young and dumb, we didn’t have access to quality information back then, and it definitely didn’t help that most bodybuilders at the time would straight up lie about their steroid use.


This lack of information and naivety gave an entire generation of young men body dysmorphia, because we couldn’t wait to become teenagers and eventually adults, so that we could hit the gym and finally look like Broly from DBZ or Ronnie Coleman himself.


The result? We spent years hopping from program to program, going on failed dirty bulks, and second guessing the things that actually worked, simply because we were not seeing the results that we THOUGHT we were supposed to see (being 300 pounds at 5% body fat lol).


Therefore, knowing the TRUTH about genetics, PED use, and bodybuilding, actually encourages people to continue on their fitness journey by preventing them from setting ridiculous expectations that will do nothing but yield disappointment and endless second-guessing of the BASICS.


Genetics are a real thing, and this can easily be seen on the bodybuilding stage.


As a die hard fan of bodybuilding ever since I was a child, I studied every single prominent bodybuilder over the years, and ranked them based on genetic potential.


Without further ado, here are the top 5 Genetic Freaks In Bodybuilding History:


🧬Roelly Winklaar (FFMI 45)

🧬Phil Heath (FFMI 35)

🧬Big Ramy (FFMI 41)

For reference, the average man’s FFMI (do not confuse with BMI) is around 18-21, and Arnold at his prime was FFMI 28.

Most natural bodybuilders and fitness influencers with with elite genetics and with YEARS of training experience usually hover around FFMI 23-24, with an extremely tiny few hitting the FFMI 25-26 mark.

There is a big misconception that as long as you train hard and take enough P.E.Ds, you can get just as big as some of the top IFBB Olympians (FFMI over 28-30).


Even Arnold Schwarzenegger, with his superior genetics and insane work ethic, needed the assistance of several P.E.Ds (Primo, Deca, Dianabol, Testosterone etc.) JUST to reach FFMI of 28 at his PEAK.


The truth of the matter is, that genetics account for over 66% of the variance in bodybuilding & sports performance outcomes.

Genetics decide how FAST you grow, how BIG you can eventually get, and how well you respond to steroids.

For example, people with specific genetic polymorphisms on their Myostatin, Androgen Receptor, and even ACTN3 genes are hyper-responders to both training, nutrition, AND steroids, and can reach FFMIs of 25-30+ with significantly less drugs and training than the average person, because their DNA transcription and mRNA translation pathways are THAT sensitive to stimulus.

For the blackpill mofos out there, this does NOT mean that the average person cannot build a great physique.

Almost ANYONE, with enough HARD training, nutrition, and recovery management, can reach a FFMI of 25 in less than 5 years of CONSISTENT and OPTIMAL training.
