🦍Testosterone Doesn’t Make You A Man?

Is Testosterone the molecule of Masculinity?

Or is it Growth Hormone? IGF-1? The Androgen Receptor?

Well, if you chose Testosterone, you chose wrong.

You see, contrary to popular belief, most of the effects that Testosterone is commonly known for are mediated via its binding to the Androgen Receptor.

This means that you can have 2000 ng/dL testosterone levels, but if your androgen receptors are low, blunted, or irresponsive (due to genetic mutations), your testosterone is virtually useless in terms of androgenicity and anabolic activity (apart from its conversion to estradiol and minor antagonism of cortisol, which I’ll cover in future posts and videos).

Now how can you apply this information to your life?

Well, the sensitivity and number of your androgen receptors (AR) is largely genetic, but fortunately for you, it is also part environmental.

Just like Testosterone, you can increase AR density by diet, training, and lifestyle interventions.

Example, in muscle tissue, increasing your baseline satellite cell and myonuclei count can increase androgen receptors within the muscle tissue.

The fastest way to achieve this naturally is through high frequency high volume training (such as Nucleus Overload®) or unnaturally through exogenous Testosterone (especially Dihydrotestosterone aka DHT) & PED use (which is obviously not recommended).
